Project Main Components and Features
Sewerage networks - 530km

• Joub Jannine system: serves the towns of Ghazze, Joub Jannine, Kamed el Laoz, Haouch el Harime and other villages, with a main wastewater treatment plant located in Joub Jannine for 71,600 persons (year 2020).

• Machghara system: serves Qaraaoun, Baaloul, Machghara and Aitanit with a treatment plant for 24,000 persons (year 2020).

• Yohmour system: serves Yohmor and Libbaya with a treatment plant for 7,800 persons (year 2020).

• Deir Tahnich, Sohmor, Saghbine, and Qelia systems: serve four, one, two and one village with treatment plants for 5,000, 5,300, 3,200 and 2,000 persons respectively (year 2020).

• Zellaya system: serves Zellaya village with a septic tank for 500 persons (year 2020).

• El Marj and Dahr El Ahmar systems: serve six and eight towns respectively and their treatment plants are not covered in this project.
Treatment Plants: 7

• Joub Jannine treatment plant with an average capacity of 9,000 m3/day. This treatment will use the extended aeration method with secondary level of treatment. The effluent will be discharged in Litani river or used for irrigation.

• Machghara treatment plant with an average capacity of 2,900 m3/day with extended aeration method and the effluent will be discharged in Litani river or used for irrigation.

• Yohmor treatment plant with an average capacity of 900 m3/day, it will use the extended aeration method of treatment and the effluent will be discharged in Litani river or used for irrigation.

• Deir tahnich, Sohmor, Saghbine and Qelia treatement plants with an average capacity of 720, 720,560 and 290 m3/day respectively.
Served population: 180 000 inhabitants (year 2020)
