The future wastewater collection system for Tripoli city has been designed on
a gravity basis and will comprise two major sewer lines. The larger sewer H (microtunnel)
will lead from el Bahsass in the south of the city to the location of the new
wastewater treatment plant at Abou Ali river and will collect all flows from the
western parts of the city including those from Koura. The second major sewer (N)
will run along the coast from el Beddawi to the new treatment plant and will collect
all flows from the eastern part of the city including those from Zgharta. It shall
also include several other smaller sewers.
